BARRE TRAINING

WHAT IS BARRE TRAINING?

Barre is a fitness format inspired by the ballet barre: the support element that dancers use in their training. In Barre, you make small, controlled movements that push your muscles to their limit (that wonderful shake feeling) while combining sculpting and lengthening at the same time. 

The result: a leaner, stronger and more defined body. Without heavy weights or hard impact on your joints. Barre trains your stabilisers, improves your posture and gives you that elegant, athletic appearance all at once. 

At CRUSH Studios we offer three unique Barre formats: CRUSH Barre, Booty Barre and Ballet Barre. Each with its own focus, but all with the same distinctive CRUSH energy.

THE COMPLETE BARRE WORKOUT

CRUSH Barre is our signature Barre class and the perfect introduction to the world of Barre training. We combine the precision of pilates, the power of functional strength training and the flowing movements of dance. All in one dynamic 50-minute class. 

You train at the barre and on the mat. Small, controlled movements with a big impact. You work through different muscle groups: from arms and shoulders to core, glutes, and legs. All while your posture and balance are constantly challenged. 

WHO IS CRUSH BARRE FOR?

For everyone. You do not need any dance experience to enjoy CRUSH Barre. The class is accessible for beginners and challenging enough for experienced athletes. Your instructor always offers modifications, so you train at your own level.

WHY BOOTY BARRE

Strong glute muscles are the foundation of a healthy, strong, and functional body. They reduce lower back pain, improve your posture, and support every movement you make in daily life. In Booty Barre you build balance, stability and athletic performance while sculpting your glutes, hamstrings and hips in one focused class.

The small, controlled movements burn in all the right places, reaching the deep muscle groups that most workouts never touch. Low-impact, high reward. 

STRONGER, LEANER, ROUNDER​

Booty Barre focuses entirely on your glutes. Strong glutes support a healthy back, better posture and athletic performance. 

We work at the barre and on the mat, targeting glutes, hamstrings and hips. Small, burning movements that reach the deep muscles regular training often misses.

THE ART OF MOVEMENT

Ballet Barre is for everyone who wants to move with grace and strength. Inspired by classical ballet, this class brings the beauty of dance together with a serious, effective workout. You train balance, flexibility, coordination, and strength. All at the same time. 

Expect a class full of elegant, controlled movements that deeply activate your muscles and take your body’s awareness to a higher level. We train at the barre, in the center of the room and on the mat. Just like real ballet dancers. 

WHO IS BALLET BARRE FOR?

For all levels: you absolutely do not need any ballet experience. Ballet Barre is ideal if you have ever thought that ballet is “not for you”. We guide you through the movements step by step. What you take home: a stronger body, better balance, and a feeling of elegance that stays with you for the rest of the day. 

WHAT MAKES BALLET BARRE UNIQUE?

Everything you need to know before booking your first class 

Every Barre class lasts 50 minutes. Mark your calendar: make sure you arrive 5 minutes before the start. 

Wear sports clothing that moves freely: something that does not pinch or restrict you. Grip socks are mandatory in Barre classes, for stability and safety. They are available at Crush Studios. Bring a bottle of water. 

Barre is accessible for everyone, even if you have never danced before or think you are ‘not flexible enough’. Our instructors always offer modifications and are there to guide you. The only thing you need is the willingness to move. 

Absolutely, and we actually recommend it. Barre and Reformer complement each other perfectly. Barre trains flexibility, coordination and small stabilising muscles. Reformer builds strength and core stability. Together they form a complete and balanced training routine. 

CRUSH Studios is located at Zijlweg 1 in Haarlem. Easily accessible by public transport and with ample parking in the area.
